About the Weekday Day Program

Our Day Programs offer a warm, welcoming space where people connect, build friendships, and feel at home. Designed for individuals with acquired brain injuries, including those with physical disabilities, we create meaningful opportunities to grow, engage, and thrive.

We offer two weekday programs Opportunity Centre and Beginnings both delivered in the same inclusive facility. Opportunity Centre (8:30 AM–2:30 PM) is ideal for individuals who are more independent and attend on a flexible, drop‑in basis. Beginnings (9:30 AM–2:30 PM) provides higher levels of support, including PSWs and assistance with daily activities, and also runs on weekends (9:30 AM–2:00 PM) as a vital respite option for caregivers.

Participants enjoy a shared monthly calendar of activities such as exercise, mindfulness, crafts, and social programs. A home‑cooked lunch is served daily at 11:30 AM, and an on‑site food bank is available to support individual needs.

There is no cost to attend. Our Day Programs are more than just a place to go, they are a community where everyone belongs.

About the Weekend Day Program

Traverse is proud to announce that we have received base funding from the Ontario Ministry of Health to launch a new Caregiver Respite Program beginning April 2026. This funding supports the expansion of adult day and caregiver support services, helping reduce caregiver burnout while enhancing quality of life for individuals living with dementia, physical disabilities, or acquired brain injury.

Beginnings is available on weekends as a respite program for caregivers, with a separate calendar of activities designed to provide engaging support for participants and reliable relief for caregivers. Weekend hours are 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM.

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that we are located on the Haldimand Tract, traditional and unceded territory of the Anishnaabe, Haudenosaunee and Neutral Peoples. It encompasses 980,000 acres of land that was given to the Six Nations in 1784, 10 kilometers on each side of the Grand River.
