The OC - Orange Shirt Day and Truth and Reconciliation Day
Today, The OC held a meaningful music session where they sang 3 Indigenous folk songs. They were also honoured to hear a client share their residential school survivor story, helping us reflect on the importance of truth, healing, and reconciliation. Orange shirts were also distributed to staff and clients as a symbol of remembrance and support.
Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that we are located on the Haldimand Tract, traditional and unceded territory of the Anishnaabe, Haudenosaunee and Neutral Peoples. It encompasses 980,000 acres of land that was given to the Six Nations in 1784, 10 kilometers on each side of the Grand River.
