Rowan’s Law Day - A Time to Reflect, Educate, and Act
At Traverse, we stand with Ontario and the broader community in honouring Rowan Stringer, a courageous 17-year-old rugby player whose tragic story led to the creation of Rowan’s Law -Ontario’s landmark concussion safety legislation.
Rowan’s Law reminds us that concussions are brain injuries, and they must be taken seriously. It mandates:
- Annual concussion awareness training
- Concussion Codes of Conduct for athletes, coaches, and parents
- Immediate removal-from-sport protocols
- Physician clearance before return-to-play
These measures are saving lives and changing the culture around sports and brain health. Early data even suggests a decline in sports-related brain injuries since the law was passed.
We are dedicated to supporting individuals with concussions and brain injuries, we know recovery is not just physical - it’s emotional, cognitive, and deeply personal. That’s why we’re here to help every step of the way.
Let’s use Rowan’s Law Day to spread awareness, encourage safe play, and protect the brains of our youth.
